Glitter tattoos are temporary although with care they can last up to a week or more. They consist of body glue and cosmetic-grade glitter applied with a stencil or freehand (using a brush for the glue).
They are easily removed by gently rubbing baby oil into the area, or will soften in a bath and be easily rubbed off if you prefer to remove them this way.
If you wish your tattoo to last simply try not to touch it too much, carefully dab dry after bathing (DO NOT rub dry as the softened glue will rub off, the glue will harden again as it dries out) and avoid applying alcohol-based products to the area.
